Ninth session of Parliament to begin on Jan 20
The ninth session of the 10th Parliament, elected in January 2014, will begin on Jan 20.

The first session of the year 2016, convened by President Md Abdul Hamid, will commence at 4:30pm on the day, said a media statement from the Parliament Secretariat on Monday.
According to the Constitution, the session will begin with an address by the president, to be followed by deliberations on the part of MPs.
The eighth session of Parliament ended on Nov 23, 2015.
The current Parliament got underway on Jan 29, 2014. For the first time since the late 1970s, the BNP has been absent in the House as a result of its boycott of the elections earlier that month.
The House will reach its second year during the upcoming ninth session.
