Durga Puja public holiday on Oct 22
The government has declared public holiday for Durga Puja on Oct 22 because the Nabami and Dashami fall on the same date.

Cabinet Division Secretary Muhammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan told reporters on Monday that instead of Oct 23 the holiday will be on a day earlier.
The Durga Puja public holiday was earlier fixed for Oct 23 this year.
But leaders of Hindu community asked for shifting it to the 22nd Oct as the Nabami and Dashami fall on the same day this year.
