Former police chief Hassan Mahmood Khandker made Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Spain

The police officer who was the longest serving head of the force before retiring last year will head for Spain as Bangladesh’s envoy.
The Ministry of Public Administration in an order on Monday said Hassan Mahmood Khandker was appointed for the next three years as ambassador, cancelling his post-retirement leave.

Before that, he was the chief of RAB.
Khandker studied English literature at the Dhaka University and joined police in 1984.
He is a recipient of Bangladesh Police Medal and President Police Medal. Bangladesh Police got Independence Day Award during his tenure.
The ministry said his appointment would come into effect on the date of his joining.
