Forensic tests found over 60 injury marks on the body of the 13-year-old, who was beaten and tortured to death on Jul 8 at Sylhet’s Kumargaon.

Jalalabad police Inspector Alamgir Hossain said that they received the report on Monday.

“It says Rajan died due to brain haemorrhage after he suffered head injuries and there were 64 injury marks on the body,” said Hossain, who is investigating the case.

Meanwhile, another suspect has been nabbed for suspected involvement in the torture and murder—the second arrested so far.

Ismail Hossain Ablus, 32, was nabbed from the city’s Mirergaon on Monday morning, said Hossain.

“He is not named in the case, but was detained as his involvement is suspected,” said the police officer.

Rajan was beaten to death on July 8 morning after being accused of stealing a rickshaw van at Kumargaon of Sylhet Sadar Upazila.

One of those who tortured had filmed the shocking footage and released it on a social networking site.

The 28-minute video clip created a furore on the social media after it went viral on the internet.

Locals caught one Muhith Alam and handed him over to police after the murder on July 8 when he was trying to take away the body in a microbus.

Jalalabad police later filed a case against Alam, his brother Kamrul Islam, Ali Haider, and Moyna Mia.

On Monday, a Sylhet court granted police three days to question Alam over the murder.
