Ganajagaran Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarkar has accused the government of “trying to cover up the murder of bloggers for its political gain”.
He was addressing a rally in Dhaka on Friday protesting the murder of blogger Ananta Bijoy Das who was hacked to death in Sylhet on Tuesday.
“The government wants to cover the killing of bloggers for its political gain rather than bringing the murderers to book,” Sarkar alleged.
“The government is playing a nasty political game with the killing of bloggers.”
He also blamed the government for helping the murderers of Ahmed Rajib Haider to go into hiding and the police for inaction during murders of Avijit Roy and Oyasiqur Rahman.
“This make us suspect if the persons involved in these murders are right inside the administration,” Sarker continued.
The government’s failure to nab the murderers made possible the frequent killing of bloggers , he said.
Protesters also brought out a procession that marched to Teachers’ Students’ Centre (TSC) of the Dhaka University and ended after coming back to Shahbagh.
