Another 30 people including women and children were injured in the mishap that took place around 3am on Thursday on Pabna-Kushtia Highway, Mirpur Police Station OC Kazi Jalal Uddin confirmed bdnews24.com.
“The bus set off at night carrying devotees from Joypurhat’s Akkelpur area. They were headed to Joypurhat Atrashi’s Bishwa Jaker Manjil in Faridpur's Sadar,” he said.
The OC said the four who died included Akkelpur’s Jaker Party chief Alam Mandal, 55, a local resident Nure Alam Siddique, 55, Keshorpur resident Jahidul Islam, 40, and the driver ‘Parvez’, 34.
The 30 injured were taken to Kushtia General Hospital. All of them are residents of Akkelpur.
