10kg gold seized from Dhaka airport, four arrested

Customs officials have seized 10 kg gold and arrested four persons over the haul at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport.

Joint Commissioner Kazi Mohammad Zia Uddin said the four were arrested on Sunday afternoon from the domestic terminal of the airport.

Those arrestees are Abdul Halim, Belal Uddin, Mohammad Sajjad, and Mohammad Anwar.

According to the customs official, they were travelling by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane that departed from Dubai and landed at Dhaka via Chittagong.

They boarded the plane from Chittagong.

Customs officials recovered the gold after searching their luggage.
