Six pedestrians injured in Chittagong crude bomb attack

Six passers-by have been injured, four of them critically, when miscreants blasted crude bombs at a lane in Chittagong City during the blockade and shutdown sponsored by the BNP.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Mizanur Rahman said the incident took place at Hari Gali under the city’s Kotwali Police Station around 9:15pm on Monday.

The injured are ‘Shahid’, 50, Abu Taher, 60, Ariful Islam, 30, Mahir Faysal Rakib, 22, Jewel Chakrabarti, 24, and Mohammad Shafi, 45.

They were rushed to Chittagong General Hospital and four of them were later shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

Hazari Goli Ward Councilor Jahar Lal Hazari toldbdnews24.com that miscreants had hurled two hand bombs from the rooftop of a building at the street.
