Gold seized from Dhaka airport
Customs officials have found a kilogram of gold concealed in a video game console at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport.

Airport Mail and Sorting Division’s Assistant Post Master General Sharif Latif told the reporters that customs officials found eight gold bars weighing 930 grams after scanning the video game box around 10:30 am on Tuesday.

“The package containing the gold was flown from Dubai to Dhaka on an Emirates Airways plane on Monday night,” he said.
The estimated market price of the gold would be around Tk 5 million.
Airport Customs’ Joint Commissioner Kazi Mohammad Zia Uddin said the matter was being investigated.
