"We came here to see, hear and learn. What we have found is completely different from the normal media fare. We have seen progress, exuberance, and vibrancy,” Abdoulie Jobe told a press conference.

“We need to learn and draw on your expertise. We need to know how Bangladesh can help African countries particularly, Gambia,” the minister said.

He stressed on alliance and investments in agriculture, food processing and packaging sectors.

Jobe came to Dhaka with a high-powered business delegation on Sunday and would leave on Thursday.

“We chose a far away country like Bangladesh because as members of OIC, we have seen the transformation of socio-economic scene of Bangladesh,” he said.

He invited Bangladesh’s businesses to invest in his country and use the duty-free market access in the US to export from there.

He offered all the privileges for that including land and tax waiver.

Ambassador of Gambia in New Delhi accredited to Dhaka Dembo M Badjie, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency Fatou Mbenga Jallow, CEO of Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry Alieu Secka, and Director of Investment Promotion and Facilitation Musa Bah accompanied the minister, among others.
