Since it has come to light that the suspected militant Shakil Ahmed, who was killed in the blast, was a Bangladeshi national, the agency wants to get details on movement of militants from Bangladesh to India and vice versa.

Shakil obtained an Indian voter card after sneaking into Nadia district and started a business in Murshidabad's Beldanga. The agency wants to know about his antecedents in Bangladesh.

Moreover, NIA has said that the Improvised Explosive Devices were meant for blasts in Bengal during the festive season and the way the two women handled the situation after the blasts makes it clear that they were very well trained.

NIA is now looking for Abdul Khader Sultan Armar, a terror mastermind who is now based in Middle East and is recruiting militants. He had reportedly asked the new recruits from Hyderbad and Chennai to reach Kolkata so that they can easily sneak into Bangladesh on their way to destined places for jihadi training.

Armar heads an organization, Ansar-Ul Tauhid (AUT), and NIA is probing if the documents and evidence burnt by the two arrested women belonged to AUT. The agency is also investigating how ammonium nitrate, lead acetate and other chemicals were collected from Kolkata and brought to Burdwan.

"Moreover, four Bangladeshi nationals visited the spot in Burdwan last month to supervise the making of bombs," sources said. Even, Hassan Mollah, who was arrested from Purbasthali on Sunday in connection with the blast, is under the scanner of NIA.

The agency wants to check whether he is from Bangladesh. NIA officials also want to get details about banned outfit Jamaat-e-Islami.
