Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, just back from a tour of the US and the UK, is holding a press conference at her official residence, Ganabhaban.
The briefing on her visit started around 4:45pm on Friday.
She is expected to make an announcement regarding the future of her Telecoms Minister Abdul Latif Siddque for his comments rubbishing the practice of Hajj and Tabligh.
According to senior Awami League leaders, Siddique has already been dropped from the Cabinet and may also lose his party membership.
