Case filed against Tarek Sayeed in Comilla

A case has been filed against former Lt Col Tarek Sayeed Mohammad and four officers of RAB-11 on charges of abduction of two BNP leaders in Comilla.

Tarek Sayeed was the Commanding Officer of the Narayanganj-based RAB-11.

He is also accused in the multiple murders in Narayanganj.

Md Rongu Miah, father of BNP Laksam municipality unit president Humayun Kabir Parvez, filed the case at Comilla’s sixth Judicial Magistrate’s Court on Sunday.

Other accused are RAB-11 company commander Maj Shahed Raji, Deputy Assistant Director Shahjahan Ali, and SIs Kazi Sultan Ahmed and Asit Kumar Roy.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Sabrina Nargis took the case into cognizance and ordered the Laksam Police Station OC to investigate it.

According to case details, the accused RAB members robbed Tk 1.4 million from the factory of the ‘Bangladesh Flour Mill’ in Doulatganj market in Laksam on the night of Nov 27 last year.

On the same night they detained former MP and BNP Laksam Upazila unit president Saiful Islam Hiru, a local BNP leader Humayun Kabir Parvez and another person named Jasimuddin.

Jasimuddin was handed over to police while the two others still remain traceless, the case statement said.
