Those sent on remand to police are Tuhinur Rahman, 25, Syed Mostofa Ali Rumi, 33, Mohammad Rashed Mahmud, 25, Saidul Islam alias Nuruzzaman, 22, Mohammad Sujan Hawladar, 22, and Mohammad Jahangir, 23.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rezaul Karim rejected police petition for ten days remand for the murder suspects.

However, the key accused in the case, another Juba League leader HM Zahid Siddique Tarik could not be produced before the court as he is injured and undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Milki, an Organising Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan (south) unit, was shot in the head in the early hours of Tuesday in front of a Gulshan shopping centre.

His brother Major Rashidul Haque Khan filed a case with Gulshan police on Tuesday night naming 11, including Tarik, for the murder.

A CCTV footage from Shoppers World shows a youth, wearing white Punjabi-pajama and scalp cap, walking right towards Milki holding a mobile phone to his left ear.

The assailant is seen firing a single shot at Milki with a small firearm. As Milki, writhe in agony, collapsed to the ground, the assailant fires another seven or eight shots at him.

Suddenly another youth appears in a motorcycle and the shooter flees the scene on the bike. Another youth is seen opening fire at that time.

RAB officials claimed the assailant in white Punjabi-pajama was Tarek.

RAB’s intelligence wing chief Ziaul Ahsan claimed Tarek was injured in a shot fired by his accomplice.

He was detained from a hospital in Uttara on Tuesday morning.
