Fire breaks out at Multiplan Centre

A fire broke out at the Multiplan Centre, known as the computer equipment market, in the capital’s Elephant Road on Saturday morning.

Fire Service control room official Mohammad Ali told bdnews24.com that the fire started from the fifth floor of the high-rise building at around 10.30am.
The cause of the fire could not be determined immediately.
Eight fire fighting units rushed to the spot and were trying to douse the blaze.
Dhanmondi Police Station Inspector (Patrol) Sazzad Hossain told bdnews24.com from the spot that smoke was billowing out of the building.
"Some people took shelter on the rooftop after the fire broke out. They are being rescued with aerial ladder."
However, there was no report of any injury or causality.
