Ahmed Miraz, the brother of Bulbul, who is also a witness in the on-going war crimes trial, was found dead near Kuril Flyover in Dhaka last Saturday. The doctor who conducted the autopsy report said Mirza was gagged to death.
Bulbul later filed a murder case on Tuesday with the Khilket Police Station without naming anyone.
“No significant progress has been made in the case,” the Officer-in-Charge of the station Shamim Hossain told bdnews24.com on Saturday.
Asked about getting any clue into the murder, he said Ashraf Uddin, an Inspector (investigation) of the station, is dealing the case. “Police are trying hard to find a clue.”
The eminent musician had testified against the former Jamaat-e-Islami chief Ghulam Azam on Oct 5 last year as the 14th prosecution witness at the International Crimes Tribunal -1.
Following the killing of his brother, Bulbul on Sunday urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to provide security to him and his family.
