“A short while ago doctors visited him (Zillur Rahman)… They said his condition is slightly better,” he told bdnews24.com at around 10:30am on Tuesday.
On Monday Nazmul Hassan had said Zillur Rahman was in a ‘critical condition’ following lung-related complexities.
President Zillur Rahman was hospitalised at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) with breathing problems on Saturday night. An air ambulance flew the President to Singapore for better treatment.
He was immediately hospitalised and put under treatment. Zillur Rahman is currently in the intensive care unit, Nazmul Hassan said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had urged the people of the country to pray at all religious places for the President's speedy recovery.
Zillur Rahman was made the President in 2009. He celebrated his 85th birthday on Mar 9.
He was hospitalised several times during his time as the President. He underwent medical check-ups in the United Kingdom last December.
