Govt names new DGFI chief
Brig Gen Md Akbar Hossain has been made head of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) and will succeed Maj Gen Sheikh Mamun Khaled, a government source said.

Gen Khaled will be the Vice Chancellor at the army-run Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), said the source.
Brig Gen Akbar Hossain, of Artillery Corps, was commissioned in the army as a cadet of the 13th Long Course of the Bangladesh Military Academy.
Maj Gen Khaled, of the 5th Long Course of the BMA, is a Signals officer and served the DGFI for over five years.
