ACC official files remand appeal for Naser Rahman

A deputy director of the Anticorruption Commission Monday appealed to a Dhaka court, seeking a seven-day remand for former BNP MP M Naser Rahman to grill him in a corruption case.

Dhaka, July 09 (bdnews24.com) -- A deputy director of the Anticorruption Commission Monday appealed to a Dhaka court, seeking a seven-day remand for former BNP MP M Naser Rahman to grill him in a corruption case.
M Naser Rahman, son of former finance minister M Saifur Rahman, was elected MP from Moulvibazar-3 constituency.
Golam Shahriar Chowdhury of the ACC filed the appeal with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court for Dhaka.
Metropolitan magistrate Jagannath Das Khokon set July 11 to hear the remand appeal.
ACC deputy director Moniruzzaman Khan filed the case against Naser and wife Rozina Naser on May 27 with Gulshan Police Station for earning money by unfair means.
According to case details, the two submitted a flawed wealth statement to the commission concealing information about property worth Tk 2.63 crore.
They allegedly earned Tk 6.23 crore by unfair means.
