Finance Minister AMA Muhith inaugurated the exhibition titled ‘MF Husain: Journey in Graphics’ at the gallery in Uttara on Wednesday.

Liberation War Museum Trustee Architect Rabiul Hussain was also present while Galleri Kaya Director Goutam Chakraborty delivered the welcome speech.

Fifty-nine graphic works of the renowned artist, regarded by some as the Picasso of India, have been put on display at the eight-day exhibition organised to mark the artist’s 101st birthday.
Goutam said they brought the graphic works of MF Husain from Indian art collectors Ganesh Pratap Singh and Binoy M Sheth.
Some selected works displayed in the exhibition are also up for sale, he added.
Husain started by painting cinema posters and then billboards but broke with the nationalist traditions to encourage an Indian avant-garde with his narrative paintings.
The exhibition will be open for the visitors from 11am to 7:30pm every day, starting from Jan 24 to Jan 31.
ADN Group, and Suhana & Anis Ahmed Foundation are co-sponsors of the exhibition while bdnews24.com is the online media partner.
The other partners of the exhibition are radio partner Radio Foorti, online partner Artitude and security partner Euro-Vigil.
