Bikalpadhara, Jukto Front grant 20 candidates ‘winnowing fan’ symbol in election

The Bikalpadhara and the Jukto Front have granted the ‘winnowing-fan’ symbol to 20 candidates competing without ties to the Grand Alliance led by the Awami League.

Three candidates from the coalition will compete under the ‘boat’ symbol. 

Former president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury leads both parties.

The ‘boat’ symbol candidates are -- Bikalpadhara’s MA Mannan (Lakshmipur-4), Mahi B Chowdhury (Munshiganj-1) and OFM Shaheen (Moulvibazar-2).

On Monday, it was announced in a statement approved by Jukto Front chief coordinator Golam Sarwar Milon that 20 candidates of Bikalpadhara will take part in the election on the ‘winnowing-fan’ symbol.

Bikalpadhara Presidium Member Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury and Golam Sarwar Milon will contest from Sylhet-6 and Manikganj-2 seats.

Bikalpadhara Presidium Member HM Golam Reza will run from Satkhira-4, BLDP ally M Nazimuddin Al Azad from Jashore-4 and Shahed Sarwar from Cox’s Bazar-2.

The other Bikalpadhara candidates are - Ashraful Islam in Dinajpur-2, Harun-ur-Rashid Talukder in Rangpur-2, Abul Bashar in Kurigram-2, Manjur Alam Hasu in Natore-3, Maruf Hossain Kajol in Jashore-3, AKM Saifur Rashid in Dhaka-17, Ainul Haque in Dhaka-19,  Shamsul Haque Jehadi in Cumilla-11, Bikalpadhara Barrister Omar Faruk in Noakhali-1, Majharul Islam Shah Chowdhury in Chattogram-2, Md Enayet Kabir in Barishal-3, Munirul Islam in Tangail-2, Md Mahbubur Rahman in Dhaka-13 and Md Muniruzzaman in Rajshahi-3.
