BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam, the spokesman for the alliance, announced the decision on Tuesday.
The Oikya Front had demanded delaying the election for a month when the EC announced the first schedule and fixed Dec 23 as the election day.
The EC failed to satisfy the BNP and its alliance members even after rescheduling the election to Dec 30.
Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda dismissed the demand for a further delay saying there is no scope to shift the date beyond Dec 30.
“It does not matter what the CEC says but we’ll place our demand,” said Mirza Fakhrul on the context of the CEC’s statement.
Alliance leaders will set the issues to be discussed at the EC meeting on Wednesday, he said.
On Nov 16, Oikya Front chief Kamal Hossain will sit with newspaper editors seeking their views on the upcoming election, he said.
