The BNP secretary general briefed the media on Monday night about the coalition’s meeting on preparations for the Suhrawardy Udyan rally scheduled for Tuesday.

They decided to announce more programmes in the rally, he said.

After the first round of talks with the Oikya Front on Nov 1, Awami League chief Hasina questioned the alliance’s sincerity about the dialogue, pointing to its protest programmes.

The Oikya Front is scheduled to sit with her again on Wednesday as there had been ‘no specific solution’ it raised in the first round.

Asked if the protest programmes will impact the talks, Mirza Fakhrul said, “We will set the programmes in such a way that those will not affect the talks.”

He said the Oikya Front leaders also discussed the issues they plan to raise with the prime minister.
