Standard Bangla spelling made compulsory

Dhaka, Oct 31 (bdnews24.com)–The government in an order on Wednesday made it mandatory to follow the standard Bangla spelling method approved by the Bangla Academy in all official activities.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification to this end.
It observed different Ministries, Departments, Directorates and organisations are using different Bangla spellings and it was urgent to follow correct Bangla spelling in all official work.
The notification said that standard Bangla spelling method of Bangla Academy has already been used in different functions and textbooks. It is also essential to maintain standardisation of Bangla language in official use.
The Cabinet Division also directed all the Ministries, Departments, Directorates and organisations to collect an adequate number of dictionaries of Bangla Academy to ensure correct use of Bangla spelling.
