John Podesta just announced to the Javits Center in New York, where Hillary Clinton was holding her election night party, that she would not concede the election or speak tonight.

Third-party candidate Evan McMullin tried desperately to win the Western state, running as an anti-Trump conservative.

Shooting near polls centre  

At least two persons have been injured in the shooting near a polling location in Azusa, California, authorities say.

Voters inside the polling station, Memorial Park North Recreation Center, say they are currently on lockdown.

One of them said he heard a bunch of shots ring out and people from outside starting to run in before officials locked the doors.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department helicopter has transported at least two shooting victims to a nearby hospital.

In the most early polls results coming in, Donald Trump is ahead in Kentucky, a state that he was expected to win.

Trump bagged 3,441 votes in the state so far while Hillary 782.

Kentucky has eight electoral votes.

Some of initial exit poll data released by US network ABC News point to what many US voters have said for some time - neither of the candidates are viewed very favourably and voters still question their honesty and trustworthiness.

Hillary Clinton has been seen unfavourably by 54 percent, while 61 percent say so of Trump.

Fifty-three percent of voters say she is qualified for office and 56 percent feel she has the right personality and temperament for the job.

Those decline to 37 percent and 34 percent for Trump, respectively, in these preliminary exit poll results.

Majority of US voters thinks the economy is 'rigged'

Reuters/Ipsos polled more than 10,000 Americans who have already cast their ballots. The poll, which will be updated as additional responses are tallied throughout the day, found the following:

There was ‘direct pressure’ on Russian diplomats to steer clear of polling stations, said ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova in a Facebook post.

Lawyers go to Nevada state court to sue Clark County Registrar of Voters Joe P Gloria over an alleged decision he made to keep polling locations open “two hours beyond the designated closing time.”

They did, however, allow people who were in line at closing time to vote.

Problems arise in voting machines in all 37 polling places in Washington County. 

Utah's director of elections Mark Thomas fails to specify the precise problem.
