Russia says it is surprised by Dutch call for Moscow to cooperate fully over MH17: Interfax

Russia considers a call by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte for Russia to cooperate fully with the criminal investigation into the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 as strange, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

Russia has always been willing to cooperate in the investigation, Zakharova added, according to Interfax news agency.

Rutte on Tuesday asked for Moscow’s full cooperation to find those responsible for the downing of the plane with 298 people onboard after the publication of the final report by the Dutch Safety Board into the crash.

It concluded that a Russian-made Buk missile, fired from rebel-held territory in eastern Ukraine, brought down MH17.

The report, however, did not assign blame for the crash on July 17, 2014.
