Real Madrid slam Getafe 7-3

Cristiano Ronaldo's first-half hat-trick kept Spanish football club Real Madrid on par with Getafe before he and the Bernabeu home team went on to steamroll the visitors for a 7-3 victory.

Ronaldo put Real Madrid ahead 1-0 in the 13th minute. But after that, practically every Getafe shot at goal eluded Casillas for a score on Saturday, reports Efe.

One from outside the area by Sergio Escudero to tie it up 1-1 (26th minute), then another by Diego Castro (26th) to put Getafe ahead 2-1 only to be tied again 2-2 by Ronaldo (34th), who then put Real Madrid in front once more 3-2 (35th) with a penalty-kick while Lacen tied it up for Getafe at half-time 3-3.

After such an amazing first half came the hammering - four straight Real Madrid goals after the break by Chicharito, James Rodriguez, Jese and Marcelo - and none for Getafe.

Despite the one-sided win and the fact that Ronaldo's big three brought his all-season total to 61 goals, an all-time career-best for the Portuguese striker, the season itself did not turn out that well for Real Madrid, which ended without a trophy for coach Carlo Ancelotti.

At a time when Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and the board of directors seem ready to drop Ancelotti, Cristiano Ronaldo posted a photo on social network of the two of them together in the locker room with the message "Great coach and better person. We hope to work with him next season."

But despite being only one of two managers to win the European Cup three times and having another year to run on his three-year contract, the former AC Milan and Chelsea manager will soon be talking to the bosses about his future, if any, with Real Madrid.
