Hundreds of children gathered at the World Museum in Liverpool to participate in a special question and answer session with Peake, who is currently at the International Space Station.

Nearly 300,000 children in the United Kingdom were able to watch the special live feed, British Telecom reported on its website.

During the 20-minute session, Peake demonstrated how liquids remain intact in space. The 43-year-old astronaut showed off special waterproof paddles he uses to play ping pong. After hitting a glob of water back and forth, Peake added a tablet to the water glob which caused it to fizz and double in size.

Finally, in a nod to the popular British book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Peake held up a small white towel inscribed with the words, "don't panic."
