But it is not yet clear which court will henceforth conduct the trial.

Former prime minister Khaleda Zia stands accused of embezzling Tk 21 million from funds meant for Zia Orphanage Trust, which reportedly came from a foreign bank.

The court is now hearing Khaleda's statement defending herself in the case started by the Anti-Corruption Commission in 2010.

On Apr 16, Khaleda filed a petition to change the trial court, saying she lacked confidence in Dhaka’s Senior Special Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla.

Justice Md Shawkat Hossain and Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder of the High Court granted her plea on Sunday.

AJ Mohammad Ali and Ragib Rouf Chowdhury argued for Khaleda while Khurshid Alam Khan represented the ACC.
