The BNP National Standing Committee member was speaking at a rally in Chittagong on Thursday.
"Many have asked whether we will take part in the elections. The BNP is ready to contest in fair elections where the voters can cast their votes freely," he said.
Mosharraf alleged that the government rejected Khaleda's proposal on the formation of an impartial Election Commission.
"It’s not that those in the EC are not questionable. We doubt them. But we also believe that the commission will have to conduct the polls fairly if a non-partisan government is there during the election."
"With this aim, our leader Khaleda Zia will propose a neutral election-time facilitative government within some days," Mosharraf said.
He said the BNP would push for a neutral polls-time government once Khaleda outlines it.
He said she will also reveal a plan, dubbed 'Vision 2030', on May 10 on ways to make Bangladesh a middle-income country within 2030.
