The former prime minister arrived at the court premises in Bakhshibazar around 10:45 am on Thursday.

Dhaka’s Third Special Judge's Court is scheduled to hold hearings in the Zia Charitable Trust and the Zia Orphanage Trust graft cases.

Khaleda's lawyers said they would cross-examine the investigating officer (IO) of the Charitable Trust case on three specific issues.

The IO of the Orphanage Trust graft case will be also questioned on Thursday, lawyers said.

In 2011, the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) prosecuted Khaleda for allegedly embezzling Tk 31.5 million from the charity.

In the Orphanage Trust graft case, the former premier is accused of embezzling Tk 21 million from funds meant for the Trust, which reportedly came from a foreign bank.
