Speaking at an Iftar gathering at the capital, Khaleda even alleged that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina may have a hand in the incident.

On June 15 people caught Fahim red handed while he was attempting to hack a Madaripur teacher to death.

The court later handed him over to the police for a 10 day remand.

He fell to crossfiring the day after police took him into remand when the police were allegedly engaged in a gun battle with some miscreants.

"No crossfiring but a deliberate plan killed him", Khaleda said.

"He was killed late at night of the very day he was taken into remand with handcuffs on", she alleged.

"This means on-duty police personnel killed him", she said.

Training her gun straight at the prime minister, Khaleda lashed out, "Since he was killed by police, it means that Hasina is responsible. She is the home minister."

Despite her sharp criticism of the prime minister in this regard, Khaleda seems to have overlooked the fact that the home minister's portfolio has been under the charge of Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal since July last year.

While Khaleda's call to uncover the killers of Fahim were brazenly laced with barbs on the prime minister, the prime minister has however said that Dhaka's Uttara college student, Fahim was an Islami Chatra Shibir member. He was caught red handed while trying to murder a teacher which in itself says who is behind the secret killing.
