Minister Palak flays Khaleda Zia, says she lacks courage to accept Joy’s challenge

A day after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took on BNP chief Khaleda Zia in Parliament asking her to take up Joy’s challenge on the latter’s allegation on disproportionate wealth held in his name, State Minister for Information and Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has taken to Facebook to launch a scathing attack on the BNP chief.

Writing on his Facebook page on Friday, Palak hit out at Khaleda saying that she just did not have the guts to accept the challenge Joy had thrown at her.

Protesting against the arrest of Shafik Rahman in the Joy abduction and murder conspiracy case, the BNP chief on April 30 alleged that $ 300 million was stashed away in an account of the prime minister’s son in US.

Joy replied to the allegation through a Facebook post.

Addressing Khaleda, Joy had posted, “show me the $300 million and I promise I will donate it away to orphans.”

Palak on Friday reminded her that five days had elapsed since Joy threw the challenge at her.

Palak also went on to question the source of wealth that enables Khaleda Zia’s son Tarique Raman to lead ‘such a lavish life’ in an expensive city like London.

He also claimed that the answer to the source of Tarique’s wealth was in the verdict that sentenced Rajib Ahmed Caesar, the son of a BNP leader, for bribing an FBI agent to get information on Joy.

He said that a person like Khaleda could never have the courage to accept “Joy bhai’s” challenge “when her elder son’s name surfaces in money laundering case while her younger son’s   name finds mention in World Bank handbook for involvement in several cases of corruption …”

He said that the BNP and the Zias specialized in character assassinations and did not have the conviction to accept Joy’s challenge.
