Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said at a press conference at the party's headquarters in Dhaka on Friday that police on Thursday had given permission for the rally to be held as part of May Day functions.

The police have imposed 23 other conditions.
Some of them forbid utterances and displays that might hurt religious sentiment.
Provocative leaflets and anti-state speech have also been forbidden.
The organisers must also ensure traffic movement is not hampered near the Suhrawardy Udyan.
