Rizvi said his wife received an Indian saree from his uncle, which was later used for Kantha
“Our workers’ front ‘Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal’ will organised the rally,” Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told the media on Sunday.
He said that on Mar 27, a letter was sent to the public works department seeking permission to use the Suhrawardy Udyan as the venue for the rally.
“The authorities said that there’s no problem provided that it’s cleared by the police.”
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police is yet to respond to a request to hold the rally on May 1, an international day commemorated to honour workers, said Rizvi.
“We will initiate necessary measures after securing the police permission,” he told a media briefing following a meeting with the BNP and its affiliate organisations.
