The ruling coalition partner said in a statement on Friday that it would need ‘more time’ to select mayor candidates.
The last date for the submission of nomination papers is Dec 3.

The Workers Party’s statement, signed by its President Rashed Khan Menon and General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha, also demanded that the MPs be allowed to campaign.
Bangladesh is going to hold elections to a local government body for the first time on party lines.
