“Some incident or the other had always happened in the past every time she was away,” he said at an event at the National Press Club on Wednesday.

On Sep 28, Italian citizen Cesare Tavella was shot dead in the diplomatic zone in Dhaka’s Gulshan. Five days later, Japanese national Kunio Hoshi was gunned down in a similar manner in Rangpur’s Kaunia Upazila.

Khaleda had left for London on Sep 16 to receive medical treatment. She is staying there with her elder son Tarique Rahman, an accused in the Aug 21, 2004 grenade attack case.

BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique has been living in the UK for the past seven years.

The grenade attack, on an Awami League rally in front of the party’s office in the capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue, had killed 24 people and injured and maimed many others.

“A plot to kill foreigners is being executed while she (Khaleda) is in London. There should be a probe to see if there is a link between the two,” said Nasim, the 14-Party alliance spokesperson.

Like the 1971 war crimes, assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other murders, the killing of the foreign nationals would be tried during the term of Sheikh Hasina’s government, said the Awami League Presidium member.
