The Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the UK on Thursday.

The party’s UK chapter chief MA Malek told bdnews24.com on Wednesday they would organise a public meeting where Khaleda would speak next week.

He said she went to see doctor at a clinic at Harley Street on Tuesday. Her son Tarique Rahman and daughter-in-law Zubaida Rahman accompanied her.

Khaleda is staying at Tarique’s house in London and enjoying the company of her grandchildren, the UK BNP leader said.

Malek also said the overseas unit of the party would sacrifice cattle for the family of Khaleda during the Eid.

The BNP chief went to the UK on Sep 16 for a health check-up and will return after spending the Eid with Tarique’s family.

This is Khaleda's second visit to the UK after 2006. She dropped by in London in 2011 to visit Tarique while returning from the US.

Tarique, the party’s senior vice-chairman, has been living in London since 2007.

He is wanted for an attempt on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s life in the Aug 21, 2004 grenade attack.

Tarique met Khaleda last year when she went to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
