BNP chief Khaleda hosts Iftar for Dhaka-based foreign diplomats

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has hosted an Iftar for the foreign diplomats in Bangladesh.

Ambassadors to Bangladesh from countries including the US, UK, France, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Pakistan and Nepal joined the fast-breaking ritual at a Dhaka hotel on Tuesday.
 
At the feast, US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat, British High Commissioner Robert Gibson, Russian Ambassador Alexander Nikolaev, Chinese Ambassador Ma Mingqiang, South Korean Ambassador Yun-young Lee and Canadian High Commissioner Benoit-Pierre Laramee, among others, sat on the same table with Zia.
 
Representatives from 37 countries and international organisations joined the programme.
 
Before the Iftar, the former prime minister went around the banquet hall and exchanged pleasantries with the guests.
 
A special prayer was offered.
 
Besides top leaders of the BNP, university teachers, lawyers, former diplomats and bureaucrats, among others, joined the party.
