“The ruling party should not worry how we will organise the 20-party alliance and which parties will be there in it,” he said at a discussion in Dhaka on Saturday.

“Why should they bother so much? It’s the responsibility of the alliance’s top leaders to decide who will stay and who will not.”

BNP chairperson’s adviser Hossain said, “As far as I know and believe, Khaleda Zia will not split the 20-party alliance regardless of the propaganda by the dubious forces.”

He said, “The alliance will rather be organised to give it more strength.”

The Supreme Court Bar Association president was speaking at a discussion at the National Press Club to evaluate the recent agreements with India.

“We are not anti-India,” Hossain said while sharing BNP’s position over Bangladesh’s relationship with it neighbour.

“We hate Congress, the Indian party because it encouraged and supported the illegal government in the previous elections.”

He said, “We always want a healthy relation with India.”

Hossain also urged the government to disclose the details of the treaties signed with India during its Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Dhaka visit early this month.
