Fakhrul’s indictment hearing deferred to Jul 12

The BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s indictment hearing in the case under Explosives Act has been deferred for the second time.

The hearing has been deferred for not producing him before the court.

The court has fixed Jul 12 for the next hearing in the case in which 12 persons, including Fakhrul, are accused.

Judge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Special Tribunal-2 Justice Zakia Parvin deferred the hearing on Tuesday.

Fakhrul’s lawyer Joynul Abedin Mesbah told bdnews24.com that there were 80 cases filed against the BNP leader.

Out of these cases only three to four are on trial stage. The rest are still under investigation.

On Dec 9, 2011 two handmade bombs were exploded near the Motijheel police station.

Motijheel police’s Deputy Commissioner Mokarram Hossain filed a case in connection with the explosions.

Motijheel police station SI SM Azizul Haque submitted a charge sheet on Dec 14, 2013 accusing 12 people including Mirza Fakhrul.
