The bench of Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Md Khasruzzaman granted the interim bails after hearing separate petitions on Wednesday.

BNP Vice Chairman Chowdhury can be out on bail now, his lawyer Masud Rana told bdnews24.com.

The court also issued a rule asking why he should not be given regular bail.

His lawyers said the BNP leader would be on bail until the resolution of the rule.

Chowdhury got the bail in a case filed over clash, attack on police and obstruction of police duty when BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia appeared in court on Dec 24 last year. The case was filed with Chawk Bazar Police Station.

The other case was filed with the Shahbagh Police Station over vandalising the car of MP Chhabi Biswas in front of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital the same day.

Chowdhury was arrested on Jan 8.

On Dec 26 last year, a case was filed with the Turag Police Station over a plot to damage public and private vehicles on Dec 26 last year.

BNP Standing Committee Member Roy was granted interim bail in the case.
