Hasina dismissed the BNP chief’s claims in a press conference of her own at Ganabhaban on Sunday.
Khaleda had addressed the media only two hours before.
The prime minister’s media call was arranged on her recent visit to Indonesia.
But a reporter asked for her reaction to Khaleda’s speech.
“She has uttered a bunch of lies,” Hasina said.
She pointed out that the BNP had issued a statement forging signatures of US congressmen and circulated a news of telephone conversation between India’s Bharatiya
Janata Party chief Amit Shah who later denied to have any such conversation with Khaleda.
“She (Khaleda) is lying about the country and has not even spared the foreigners. She can lie excellently,” Hasina said.
