15 fined for polls code violation in Dhaka and Chittagong

Mobile courts have fined 15 people, including Dhaka South mayoral aspirant Sayeed Khokon, for breaching the electoral code of conduct in city corporation polls.

An Election Commission report said the people were fined on Sunday for putting up unauthorised posters and campaigning with loudspeakers beyond the permitted time.
 
It said two mobile court magistrates fined four people Tk 16,000 in Dhaka South City Corporation area.
 
Khokon was fined Tk 8,000. 
 
The three others are Md Selim, Md Kholilur Rahman and Md Shahidul Islam.
 
Three magistrates operated mobile courts in Dhaka North on Sunday.

They fined two people -- Safiqul Islam and Jissan Uddin -- Tk 3,000 and 5,000 respectively.
 
A court warned Dhaka North councillor aspirant Moshiur Rahman and dispersed his procession for a code breach.
 
In Chittagong, six magistrates fined nine people Tk 46,000.
