They moved out immediately after Khaleda left to appear before a Dhaka court.

Security personnel posted there said Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Khaleda’s adviser Abdul Kaium, Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan left the office on Sunday morning.

The BNP chief left her office after three months to attend the hearing of two corruption cases.

Vice Chairperson Selima Rahman, Mahila Dal General Secretary Surhin Sultana and Khaleda’s special aide Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas were in the car with Khaleda.

Other senior leaders left the place soon after the motorcade started for court, said security staff Abdul Mohon.

“There are no leaders here now,” he told bdnews24.com Sunday morning. “Only the security personnel remain.”

Former prime minister Khaleda had been staying at her office since Jan 3 when police prevented her from leaving.

Tension peaked over the first anniversary of the 2014 national polls that the BNP boycotted.

She called an indefinite blockade on Jan 5 from the Gulshan office.

A Dhaka court on Feb 25 issued arrest warrant for her in two corruption cases.

It granted the BNP chief bail on Sunday and fixed May 5 for the next hearing.

She went back to her Gulshan residence from the court, not to the office.
