Ganasanghati Andolan’s Saki collects nominations for Dhaka North mayor

Ganasanghati Andolan’s Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki has collected nomination papers to contest for the post of Dhaka North City Corporation mayor.

He collected the papers from the returning officer’s office at Agargaon on Saturday.
  
Leaders of the organisation Abdus Salam, Taslima Akhter, Dewan Abdur Rashid Nilu, Firoz Ahmed and Julhasnayeen Babu accompanied him.
 
A total of 28 aspirants for the post of Dhaka North mayor and 30 for the Dhaka South mayoral post have collected the nomination papers until Saturday.
 
Besides those backed by political parties like Awami League, BNP, Jatiya Party, CPB, JaSaD and BaSaD, many independent candidates too have collected the papers.
 
Over 2,100 councillor aspirants also collected nominations.
 
Sunday is the last day for collection and submission of nomination papers.
 
The papers will be scrutinised on Apr 1 and 2. The last date of withdrawal of nominations is Apr 9.
 
The voting in the three city corporations in Dhaka and Chittagong will be held on Apr 28.
