BNP leader Abdus Salam collects Dhaka South city poll nomination
Nomination papers for the mayor’s race in the Dhaka South City Corporation have been collected on behalf of BNP leader Abdus Salam.

The move could well be BNP’s first step towards joining the Apr 28 polls, ending a widespread speculation over its participation.
BNP metropolitan unit leader Monirul Islam collected the papers on Salam’s behalf from the Dhaka South City poll returning officer on Wednesday.
“The BNP is yet to announce its decision, but did not say the party will not participate. That’s why the nomination has been collected.
“If the party decides not to join the polls, it will be withdrawn,” he told reporters.
