Kader Siddiqui advises India’s Modi not to come to Bangladesh amid political crisis
Krishak Sramik Janata League chief Abdul Kader Siddiqui has advised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to visit Bangladesh amid political unrest.

He fears Modi’s visit might worsen the political crisis.
“You are the prime minister elected by the Indian people. Please don’t come to Bangladesh amid this unrest at the invitation of this unelected government,” he said at a press conference in Dhaka on Wednesday.
“It (the visit) may worsen the situation in the country,” said Siddiqui, who is staging a sit-in, demanding a dialogue between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to end the political impasse.
Modi expressed his willingness to visit Bangladesh in a letter the Indian foreign secretary handed to Hasina a few days ago.
Siddiqui, who stayed in India for around 15 years since 1975, requested Modi to pay the visit once the situation became “normal”.
A former leader of the Awami League, Siddiqui boycotted the last general elections held under the Hasina government.
The Awami League assumed office for the second consecutive term through the Jan 5 polls.
Siddiqui protested the murder of independence architect Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975 and had taken refuge in India.
