BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has placed the demand in a written statement issued on Saturday.

The alliance also demanded that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia should be “set free from her confinement".

It threatened to continue its ongoing countrywide blockade until its demands were fulfilled.

At least 20 people have been killed during this blockade.

Criticising government’s ‘cowardly’ and ‘barbaric’ action over 20-party’s blockade, the statement alleged that the ‘government has become insane.”

“The government is putting the blame on the opposition for arson after setting ablaze vehicles through its agents and then it is ordering the law enforcers to shoot at sight. This manifest the country is in grave danger.”

The 20-Party also protested the killing of a Chhatra Dal activist during an alleged shootout in Chapainawabganj.

Rizvi demanded that all cases filed against the party members be withdrawn.
