"If the contractor faces murder trial for the death of Jihad, who died after falling in a pipe then who is liable for the atrocities in the last three years. Isn't Khaleda Zia the one who instigated those?

"So, Khaleda Zia will face murder charges over the three family members injured in the arson. She should prepare to face trial", he told a media briefing on Tuesday at the ministry.

On Dec 28, a day before a strike called by the BNP-led alliance, miscreant set on fire an autorickshaw at Dhaka's Mirpur area ,leaving three of a family burnt.

Asked whether Khaleda would be arrested, Inu replied: "May be, if a case of murder is filed."

Replying to query from reporters whether the government plans to file a case, he said: "The government doesn't plan. It takes steps if someone commits an offence.

Inu said that the home ministry is looking in to the matter of filing a murder case against Khaleda Zia.

Speaking on the BNP chief being surrounded by police at her Gulshan office, the minister said: "She has not been confined, but rather denied a chance to instigate (violence). We will not spare any instigators. Everyone including the BNP has the right to hold rallies peacefully."
